Dr. Karley J. Woodrich
Dr. Karley J. Dunham is very excited to be able to fulfill her dream of serving those in her community that have vision needs. She’s had this “vision” to serve others since she was fitted with her first pair of glasses at the age of six. She is also proud to be the first female doctor to join this prestigious practice.
Dr. Dunham is delighted to return to the beloved town where she graduated Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in 2011. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from University of Houston School of Optometry in 2015. Her achievements include TTU Dean’s honor list, Awards for Clinical Excellence and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Dunham takes her profession very seriously and is devoted to putting patient care first while providing each individual with the highest quality of service. She is passionate about educating her patients about their conditions so they can fully participate in the management of their eye care.
When Dr. Dunham isn’t providing eye care at The VisionCenter, she enjoys reading new books, spending time with friends, or attending church. And of course you will see her at all the Texas Tech home football games and other Tech sporting or social events.
Dr. Garrett D. Wentz
Dr. Garrett D. Wentz is the newest optometrist at The VisionCenter of West Texas. He is passionate and enthusiastic about providing top quality eye care for all of his patients. He was born right here in Lubbock, Texas and attended Trinity Christian High School. After graduating high school, Dr. Wentz attended Abilene Christian University where he earned a BS in Biology in 2013. While at ACU, Dr. Wentz gained an appreciation and passion for the optometric profession after shadowing one of our previous doctors, Dr. Reber. This motivated him to excel in his studies and hold the honor of the Dean’s list throughout his undergraduate career. From ACU, Dr. Wentz went on to Optometry School at the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio where he graduated with his Doctorate of Optometry in 2017.
Dr. Wentz spent his 3rd and 4th year of optometry school serving the people of San Antonio within the University of Incarnate Word’s clinics. He then expanded his clinical skills and passion for the profession during his externship in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Wentz had the privilege of getting trained by the Texas Optometric Association president elect, Dr. Jenny Terrell, at a Community Eye Clinic in Fort Worth, Texas. After his externship in Fort Worth, Dr. Wentz was fortunate enough to receive further training at the Amarillo VA where he had the pleasure of serving our veterans by providing them with quality eye care.
Not only does Dr. Wentz realize how important your eyes are for vision, but also the importance the eyes play in evaluating systemic health. Dr. Wentz is excited to return home to Lubbock and begin serving and providing his patients with excellent eye care. Other than working to provide quality eye care, he enjoys spending time at the lake and ranch with his wife and dog, attending church, and being with friends and family.
